After several unsuccessful attempts to find a suitable study group for English speaking, I decided to try to form a study group myself, although I know it may be more difficult than I thought.
Style of the study group: It will be for free talking and debating in English. Although no formal methods will be used, possible study materials may include magazines like Business Week, Time, New York Times, so forth.
Qualification: Although I have spent a few years in the US, I’m not a native speaker. I think I can communicate with people comfortably in English, but cannot correct other’s English. The study group will probably have no formal leader who can correct others’ English, but it might be possible that everyone in the group helps each other self-learn (practice) English better. There are no formal conditions or constraints regarding age, male/female, so forth. The only condition is that the member needs to feel comfortable with speaking, reading, and debating in English.
Format: I plan to have a meeting once a week, say 7:00-9:00PM on Tuesday or Wednesday, in the vicinity of Hyewha Dong (Dae Hak Ro).
A new member will be accepted only when the current members all agree. The team size will be 4 or 5.
Although the above is the general guideline for the study group, the study group members will decide the details once the group is finalized.
If you’re interested, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with a short introduction of yourself. Many thanks.
