One of the highligtings events must be a celebrity speech. Top universities like Harvard, Princeton etc. bring very famous people, who are politicians, artists, actors and so on. But Two things are quite controversial. Each student is usually given two free tickets but they resell them for money even though their colleges warn them to be punished. And another is that this invitation of celebrities is costly. some high profile figures are paied about more than 100 000 dollars.
Seeing that phenominon, I consider what is going on in Korean colleges as well. Many Korean colleges try to invite famous singers to their college festivals by paying them a lot.
Some people criticize this kind of show biz, which does not fit in with student life, others say it's ok because students like famous singers.
A college festival featuring famous singers can be greatly memorable for students. but the thing is that quite a big part of tuition fees goes to the singers. It seems to be worth being debated.
