DAY 12: 명사 어휘, 형용사구

가산 불가산 시험에 빈출인 것 위주로 외우기

대부분 가산이(앞에 한정사 확인 or 복수형)므로 불가산을 알아두자

불가산은 these/those 와 사용 불가

대표 불가산 명사

information(정보) equipment(장비) furniture(가구)

luggage(짐) baggage(짐) machinery(기계류)

advice(조언) produce(농산물) poetry(시)

jewelry(보석) stationery(문방구) permission 허락 *a permit: 허가증(가산)

liquids(coffee, rain, snow, milk, etc)

의미가 비슷하여 혼동하기 쉬운 가산 / 불가산

an account 계좌 / accounting 회계(학)

a permit 허가증 / permission 허락

a seat 좌석 / seating 좌석(배열)

수량형용사

another(형용사, 대명사) another는 an+other이므로 대명사로 쓰일 때 단수

단수 a/an, one, another, each, every

복수 many, a few, few(er), both, one of the, several, various, a number of

불가산 much, a little, little, less, a great deal of, a good deal of

복수, 불가산도 가능 all, most, other, pleanty of, a lot of, lots of *a lot은 부사로 동사와 함께 쓰인다

모든 명사 앞에 가능 the, any, some

*some이 단수 가산명사 앞에 쓰이면 '어떤', 복수 가산명사 앞에 쓰이면 '몇', 불가산 앞에 쓰이면 '약간의'

*every / another + 2 이상의 숫자 + 복수명사

* a number of(수많은~) + 복수명사 + 복수동사 / the number of(~의 숫자) + 복수명사 + 단수동사

*숫자+단위명사+명사에서 단위영사에는 -s가 붙지 못한다

hundreds/thousands/millions + of + 복수명사

*사람/사물/추상명사는 해석을 통해서 고른다

ex) applicant 지원자 application 신청 appliance 가전제품

*형태는 비슷하지만 의미가 다른 단어

entry 참여/참가 entrance 입구/입장

responsiveness 반응 responsibility 책임

*안 익숙한 단어, 콜로케이션, 패러프레이징*

concerning = on = about

be comparable to(전치사) ~에 필적하다, ~과 비길 만하다

compared to(전치사) ~와 비교해서

be responsive to(전치사) ~에 빠르게 대응하다, 반응하다

respond to(전치사) ~에 응답하다

response to(전치사) ~에 대한 반응, 응답, 회신

be responsible for ~에 대해서 책임이 있다

be responsible for ~를 담당하다 = supervise = oversee = in charge of

be honored for + 업적/이유 = ~으로 상을 받다, 명예를 얻다

recognize / acknowledge 공로를 인정하다

be concerned about/over ~에 대해 걱정하다 = be worried about

be concerned with ~와 관련이 있다

be suitable for ~에 적절하다, 알맞다 = appropriate
