<내 동네>
I live in a single room in my school dorm. My room is on the 4th floor. while climbing the stairs can be tiring, I’m pretty happy with my room.
Our school has three dorm buildings, and the one I live in is just a 5-minute walk to the lecture halls. Right across from the dorms is the nursing school building, which has a library, lecture halls, and other facilities. I do wish the bathrooms and showers were inside the rooms, but overall, I’m pretty satisfied with my space.

Some of my friends live in nearby rooms. That’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s great for sharing info or studying together, but it’s kind of awkward to bump into them in the bathroom or shower. The girl in the room next to mine is in the same year as me. Her name’s Eunseo. Like me, she’s a homebody, so she doesn’t come out of her room much. We don’t run into each other often, but when we do, we always greet each other warmly. She’s also super kind.
One time, I lent her something, and when she returned it, she gave me a thank-you note and some snacks. She always greets me with a bright smile and is happy to help whenever I ask for something. I think Im lucky to have such a good neighbor.

(옛날 동네 설명)
The neighborhood I grew up in was in the countryside. There was a mountain right behind our house, so I’d wake up to the sound of birds every morning.
The school was super close to our house—especially the elementary school, which was just a one-minute walk away. Our apartment was on the 9th floor, but since it was on a hill, we got plenty of sunlight and had a great view of the town.
Living there could feel a bit boring sometimes, but it was such a peaceful place with beautiful nature. My parents still live there, and I guess having more facilities and hospitals would be a great improvement in my neighborhood.

(동네에서 즐겨하는 활동/겪은 경험)
In winter, I love making snow ducks in my neighborhood. Since there was a big elementary school in front of our house, my younger sibling and I would always go out to make snow ducks whenever it snowed a lot. It’s easier to make than a snowman, and it’s super cute, which is why I love it.
One time, when I was in high school, my sibling and I were making snow ducks, and their friends suddenly showed up and started throwing snowballs at us. I dodged them as best as I could, while my sibling and their friends got into a full-on snowball fight. At the time, I was stressed out from school and studying, but that moment—playing in the snow with my sibling and their friends, even as I was almost an adult—felt so refreshing and joyful.
Even now, as an adult, I still haven’t forgotten that feeling. I want to live my life holding onto that pure, carefree spirit from childhood.

Up until two years ago, I lived in an apartment in the countryside with my parents. It was the place where I grew up, and it was very different from where I live now. Back then, Every room had wood floors and large windows that let in a lots of sunlight. There was a park nearby, and we used to go for family walks in the evenings.
In contrast, my current home is a small studio. The windows here aren’t as big, so it can feel a bit stuffy sometimes. But on the bright side, there are lots of convenience stores, restaurants, and cafés nearby. Plus, living in the city makes it so much easier to stay social and active.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to genres. My favorite movie genres are romance and fantasy. The thing about these films that attract me is that they are so magical. There’s magic, castles, and sometimes mysterious beings like werewolves or vampires. Stories set in completely different worlds make it easy for me to dive in and forget everything else. Plus, the protagonists in these movies often experience magical love and adventures that are almost impossible in real life. When I feel worn out by reality, these movies give me a sense of satisfaction. Watching them makes me feel like I’m the protagonist, and they leave me with a positive message that happiness will come after hardships.

(좋아하는 영화관)
When I was a kid, I lived in the countryside. Our town only had one movie theater, so I had no choice. But after I became an adult and started living in other areas, I got to visit different theaters. While the facilities and atmosphere were pretty similar, my favorite theater is CGV. Because their popcorn is amazing. Especially the caramel popcorn—that’s honestly the main reason I go to the movies. They also have a lot of other tasty snacks and food. If you haven’t been there yet, you should definitely check it out. And of course, don’t miss the caramel popcorn.

(좋아하는 영화배우)
My favorite actor is Park Bo-gum. He’s a famous Korean actor. He’s very tall and 31 years old this year. I started rooting for him after watching a drama ‘Reply 1988’. Not only is he a great actor and handsome, but he’s also been recognized as one of the nicest celebrities for years. I really love his kind and caring nature. Because of that, knowing how kind he is makes it easier for me to focus when I watch his movies or dramas. I’ve been supporting and following him for a long time, and I hope he never loses his sincere and kind nature.

The most memorable movie I’ve ever seen is Twilight. I first watched it on Netflix when I was in middle school. The movie is about the love story between a vampire and a human. At first, I watched it because the main characters were so good-looking—the guy and the girl were both really attractive. The vampire guy is played by Robert Pattinson, and the human girl is played by Kristen Stewart. The more I watched, the more their love story got intense and exciting. After that, I watched all the Twilight series and spent days lost in the excitement. I still can’t forget how I felt the first time I watched that movie. Maybe that’s why I like the first one, Twilight, the most.

(영화취향 변화)
My movie taste has been the same since I was young. I’ve always liked romance, fantasy, and sometimes a bit of comedy. The one thing that’s different is that I don’t like movies about war or fighting. I think I enjoy movies with unreal settings because they make me dream of a better, escape from reality. Anyway, my movie taste has mostly stayed the same, but there’s one change as I’ve gotten older. I don’t rewatch movies anymore. When I was younger, I used to watch my favorite movies more than five times. Twilight and Harry Potter are good examples. No matter how many times I watched them, I never got bored. But at some point, I started feeling bored when I rewatched a movie. So now, I never watch a movie again once I’ve seen it. That’s the only change in my movie taste.

(영화 보기 전후 하는 일)
There’s nothing special I do before watching a movie. If there’s a movie I want to see and I have time, I ask my friend to join me. Then we figure out a time and get ready to go watch it. We usually meet 2-3 hours before the movie and have a meal and do some shopping around the theater. There are usually a lot of shops near the theater, so it’s a fun bit of window shopping. About 30 minutes before the movie starts, we go into the theater and buy popcorn and drinks. Sometimes we don’t eat anything, but if it’s CGV, caramel popcorn is a must. After getting the popcorn and going to the bathroom, we talk about how excited we are for the movie. Honestly, we end up eating half of the popcorn by then. Anyway, after watching the movie, we briefly share our thoughts. If we both really enjoyed it, we tend to watch similar movies next time.

I once had a problem when I ordered the wrong size while shopping. Since I live in a small town, I usually shop online. Online shopping is super convenient and often cheaper. But it has its downsides, like ending up with the wrong size or poor-quality items. A couple of months ago, I ordered some clothes online. When they arrived, they were much too large for me. Unfortunately, I’d already washed them and taken the tags off, so returning or exchanging them wasn’t an option. I’d spent quite a bit on them, so I was really upset. But I learned my lesson! Now, I’m extra careful about checking the size and quality of items, and I make sure to inspect everything as soon as it’s delivered.

Plave is my favorite virtual idol. I’ve became a fan last summer, and I was totally drawn to their music and visuals. They’re real people using virtual gear to perform behind a screen. Also you can actually chat with them and enjoy their concerts!! PLAVE’s music stands out with trendy sounds and emotional melodies that showcase each member’s unique voice. Their performances are also visually stunning, with choreography that perfectly matches the songs. What’s even more special is their deep connection with fans, as they consistently deliver meaningful messages through their songs.
Plus, PLAVE takes part in writing, composing, and producing their songs, which makes their music more real and unique.

(음악감상 도중 겪은 경험)
One of my most memorable experiences while enjoying music was at my school festival. I’ve always enjoyed listening to music, but I had never been to a concert or music festival before. I usually preferred listening to songs alone with my earphones. Since I wasn’t good at singing or dancing, I never really joined others in enjoying music actively.
But during my college festival, several celebrities came to perform, and I ended up singing and jumping around with my friends. Even though it was exhausting, I felt pure joy and a sense of freedom. It was the first time I had ever sung my heart out like that. That memory showed me a new side of music, and ever since, I’ve been actively going to musicals, concerts, and other events.

The two music genres I want to compare are pop and R&B. I’m a big fan of both, but they have a lot of differences. Let’s start with pop. Pop music became really popular in the 20th century and is known for its catchy melodies and upbeat vibes. It’s usually fast-paced and easy to sing along to. The lyrics are often simple and fun, so it’s perfect for dancing and having a good time. On the other hand, R&B is a bit slower and more emotional. It focuses on smooth melodies and powerful vocals, often telling stories about love, heartbreak, or personal struggles. R&B songs always make me feel something deeper because of the emotional delivery and the focus on the voice. While pop is light and energetic, R&B is soulful and introspective.

(1. 독서하는 경향)
I read almost every day. Our school library doesn’t have many books, and the big library is way too far, so I often read books online. Since I read on my phone, my eyes get tired, but it’s convenient because I can read anywhere. I usually read when I’m on the bus or subway, or right before bed in my room. I’m pretty picky when it comes to genres. My favorites are romance and fantasy. Stories set in completely different worlds make it easy for me to get lost in them and forget about everything else. Most of the books I read have happy endings. Seeing the characters find happiness gives me a positive reminder that good things come after tough times.

(2. 기억에 남는 책)
The most memorable book Ive ever read is Harry Potter. It’s a globally famous fantasy novel written by J.K. Rowling. I first came across Harry Potter through the movies. When I was younger, I found the dark and tense atmosphere really scary. But when I was 11, my mom suggested I watch about 30 minutes of it, and that’s when I got hooked. The mysterious music and the magical elements really drew me in. Later, I decided to read the books. As I read, the scenes and music from the movie naturally came to mind. They blended with my own imagination to create a perfect world of magic and fantasy. It was way more immersive than just watching the movie, and it felt like I was part of the story. Since then, I’ve started reading more novels and developed a love for romance and fantasy genres.

(3. 독서에 흥미를 갖게 된 계기와 경향)
Ever since I was little, my mom read a lot of books to me. She says I wasn’t one of those kids who hated books. I was pretty picky about the books I read as a kid, though. If the pictures weren’t pretty or if there was too much text, I didn’t really enjoy them. But I loved reading beautiful picture books and comics. I was a bit late to start reading novels compared to my friends. Before that, I just couldn’t get into books with too much text. But when I was 11, I read a collection of short stories at home, and that’s when I really discovered how fun books could be. I kept reading that book over and over again. After that, I started reading more novels, essays, and all sorts of other books, and my love for reading has stuck with me. As an adult, I also read a lot of books related to my field of study. But I still enjoy a good story every now and then before bed.

(여행 전 준비하는 활동 경향)
One of the things l like to do to prepare for a trip is research food and souvenirs. I like to look up the famous dishes and items from the place I’m visiting and make a list of what I want to try or buy. Then, I organize my trip around the restaurants or shops I’ve found, so I can make the most of my trip without regrets. I don’t want to come back thinking, ‘I should’ve bought that’ or ‘I wish I’d gone there,’ so I create a simple plan and enjoy the trip.
To gather information, I usually check out YouTube or blogs, and I add anything that catches my eye or gets recommended a lot to my list. That said, not everything I plan to visit or buy ends up being amazing. But honestly, the best part of traveling is embracing those spontaneous moments and unexpected adventures.

(좋아하는 여행지)
If I had to choose a spot to travel to domestically, I’d choose Seoul. It’s busy and crowded, but there’s so much to do and so many places to eat. Since I live in a smaller city, I often go to Seoul with my friends because there’s always something fun going on. There are tons of pop-up stores, department stores, and all kinds of events and experiences to try out.
Seoul doesn’t have a beach, but it does have the Han River, which is surrounded by amazing parks. Sometimes, I ride a bike there and grab some snacks. It’s such a great spot for both exercise and picnics. So it’s a popular date spot too. I love both mountains and the ocean, but with its mix of mountains, the river, and endless things to do and eat, Seoul is definitely the easiest and most exciting city to enjoy in Korea.

(여행하다 겪은 경험/문제)
The problem I had while traveling was that someone paid for me when I was in Singapore. I’ve loved traveling abroad since I was young, so during the summer vacation of my first year of middle school, I went on a solo trip to Singapore. I stayed with a host family and made some friends. while having fun outside, I bought a few candies at a convenience store. They were lemonade-flavored, something we wouldn’t find in Korea, and I really liked them. Anyway, when I tried to pay for the candies with the change I had left, the cashier kept refusing one coin. I didn’t understand what he was saying, so I just kept saying, ‘Why? This is 5 cents.’ Then, a kind adult standing behind me in line ended up paying for my candies. All I could say at the time was ‘Thank you so much,’ but that moment has stayed with me. I realized later that it was a coin from another country. It left me with a warm memory, and it’s made me want to live in a way that’s considerate and kind towards others.

The first time I flew on a plane was when I was 11, during a trip to Jejudo. I’d traveled to many places before, but that was the first time I felt the excitement of flying and heading into the unknown. As soon as we stepped out of the airport, we were greeted by palm trees and even the weather felt completely different.
We rented a car and went on our own little adventure, visiting lots of exhibitions and museums. Every day, my family made sure to spend some time at a café overlooking the ocean, just sipping drinks and relaxing. Jeju is surrounded by peaceful, uncrowded beaches, making it the perfect place to unwind. I love how easy it is to find stretches of beach where you can relax without being bothered by crowds. With its mountains and the sea, Jeju is is an amazing travel destination.

<집에서 보내는 휴가>
(집에서 휴가를 보내는 경향)
For vacation, a of of my minds ike to wet
tanly members in other cities or even travel abroad. However, Im peretty happy to spend my vacation lying around at home. Im normally extemely busy, and
by the time my vacation starts, lm usually exhausted. So when I stay at home for vacation, I dont do anything too active. Instead, I watch movies or dig into the pile of books I put off reading. On top of that, I invite some friends over for lunch or dinner and spend quality time with them. I dont worry about my responsibilities or household chores during this time. Im really just focused on taking it easy.
A vacation at home is a perect way for me to get rid of my stress, And after a week of resting up at home, I feel recharged and ready to get back into the swing of things.

(집에서 보낸 기억에 남는 휴가)
The most memorable stay-at-home holiday for me was last Christmas. My friend and I bought a cookie-making kit, and it was my favorite Tini Ping cookie set. We had so much fun making cookies shaped like Tini Ping characters and even made some animal-shaped ones. For the animal cookies, we teamed up—I made the faces, and my friend made the bodies, and we put them together.
Since we didn’t have an oven, we decided to bake the cookies in a frying pan. While baking, we suddenly smelled something burning. Turns out, all the cookies in one pan got completely burnt in less than 10 minutes! We had no choice but to carefully bake the rest in the other pan, and thankfully, it worked out. Even though half the cookies were ruined, we had so much fun making them, and it was a Christmas to remember.

(가장 최근 집에서 보냈던 휴가)
The most recent vacation I spent at home was this summer. Back in my first year, I spent all my breaks working part-time jobs, so this summer, I decided to just relax at home. I spent my time reading my favorite novels, watching dramas and movies, and playing Animal Crossing every day after buying a Nintendo.
Staying at home and just lounging in bed made the days fly by. It was nice, but at the same time, it felt a bit empty. Even while resting, I kept feeling this pressure to be productive. Plus, being at home for so long gave me frequent headaches. So, this break, I decided to start exercising, go on a diet, and focus on studying English and nursing.
Resting at home is great, but I’ve realized it’s probably not a good idea to do it for too long.

(휴가 관련 이슈)
Work is stressful. Many people dont have time to relax as a part of their daily routines. Week-long vacations are a perfect way to relax your body and mind. Furthermore, long periods of rest help us to be more productive later on. People have different ideas of vacations. There are some people out there who just have to spend every second of their vacation doing things they usually dont have time for. My friend always insists on keeping himself busy learning new hobbies or going somewhere because he wants to feel he has accomplished something. On the other hand, some people simply like to kick back and relax. As for me, I usually rest at home so I can get back to work feeling totally rejuvenated.
In my view, the important thing about spending a vacation is doing what you want to do. That ensures its time well spent.

감사합니다. 행복한 하루 보내세요 :}
