I’m heading to Toronto for six months to truly master English. My goal is to break out of my shell and speak comfortably with everyone I meet. I wanna reach a goal where I can express myself freely and confidently. / Right now, I’m preparing as much as possible in Korea so I can hit the ground running the moment I arrive in Canada.
Many people assume that six months abroad is enough to speak English naturally, but I disagree. I believe I need to live and breathe the language while putting in consistent personal effort. I wanna make every moment count and truly get my money’s worth.
That is why I believe that while studying abroad provides an optimalenvironment, relying solely on that environment—without determination and hard work—makes it nothing more than an expensive trip. While understanding the culture is valuable, my main goal is to constantly speak up and interact with native speakers. Instead of getting hung up on perfect grammar, I will choose the confidence to just go for it. Even if I make mistakes, I know that this attitude is what will truly drive my growth.
