독해부탁드려요~~

About fifty centuries ago, writing was invented so people could put things down on clay or stone or animal skin or paper if they thought it might be important to remember them. Anything that is important to people is a part of history. So we may say that written history is about 5,000 years old.

But there have been people—people who were more or less human—on the earth for about 500,000 years. So              of time that human beings have been on this planet was before written history, and that earlier time we call the Prehistoric Age.

Although there are no written records that come to us from before the year 3,000 B.C., there are other kinds of records. They do not use words but they tell us a lot. Such records are not complete. Often they are like puzzles that scientists must guess and argue about.

1. Which of the following is most appropriate for the blank?

   (1) 1%

   (2) 10%

   (3) 90%

   (4) 99%

2. Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?

   (1) People used materials such as clay or animal skin to write on.

   (2) People had some written records 500,000 years ago.

   (3) The Prehistoric Age covers the period between 500,000 and 5,000 years ago.

   (4) Scientists cannot understand correctly what some old records mean.
