Assisted suicide, or voluntary euthanasia, has been a heated debate for decades.
The question is, if terminally ill patients wish to end their life, is it acceptable for us to assist them?
Maybe the thousands of dollars in hospital bills and emotional heartache for years could answer yes. After a lifetime of working and raising a family, most people do not think that staying in a hospital bed for years on end is living. So why burden the living family with finances and emotional turmoil of prolonging the inevitable. Euthanasia is a merciful way to end patients' suffering.
