이런 문장에서 (a)는 blieved라는 과거형으로 (그러니까 아리스토텔리스가 과거에 말했으니까)
쓴 것은 이해가 가는데
(b)에서 Ethos가 refers to 라고 하는데 여기서 Ethos도 과거에 언급한거니까 refered to 가 되는거 아닌가요?
왜 이건 refers to 이고 왜 aristotle는 believed가 되는지.... ㅠㅠㅠ

ethos라는 개념이 ~을 나타낸다, ~과 관련이 있다라는 내용이니까 현재형이 맞아요.
ethos라는 개념은 현재까지도 존재하는거고, 일반적인 사실이니까요~
영영사전 찾아보시면 refer 가 relevant to라고 뜻이 나와 있어요.

"Ethos는 one's authority on a subject를 언급했다"라는 말이 되요.
아리스토텔레스가 ethos를 'one's authority on a subject 어쩌고 저쩌고'라고 언급한거지, Ethos라는 개념이 'one's authority on a subject~'를 언급한 건 아니니까 refered는 쓰일 수 없어요~
