~ a strict deadline, and I will not extend it. 이라고 해서 extend의 목적어가 와야 합니다. (it은 a deadline이겠죠)

"6개월 동안" 영화를 못 봤어 라는 뜻이 되겠고, 여기서 전치사 in은 기간 앞에 쓰여서 '~ 동안'이라는 의미입니다.
같은 형태로 I haven't seen a movie in "기간" 의 형태를 쓴 거라고 보시면 돼요.
