Researchers studying the motivations of competitive people were surprised during test trials.
They were testing the hypothesis that excitement in the brains of the most monetary-reward-sensitive subjects would slacken during trials that did not pay. Different people in the study had to respond to word memory tests.
Sometimes rewards were offered but sometimes there was no reward. What researchers found was that the brains of these
reward-sensitive individuals do not respond to the reward information on individual trials. Once they found themselves in
a rewarding motivational context, their brains would be set in win mode across all trials.

때로는 보상이 주어졌지만, 또 때로는 그렇지 않았다. 그 다음에 이 두 문장이 이어지잖아요?
제가 생각하기에는 보상이 항상 주어지는 것은 아닌데, 보상에 민감한 개인들은 개별 실험에 참여하고 결과를 내기 때문에, 사람은 보상이 아니더라도 꾸준히 경쟁을 한다는 답이 나와야할 것 같아요
