a / the 차이점이 "명사of명사" 일 경우 구분이 잘 안됩니다.

the 는 of뒤 명사가 한정해준다고 하는데-> 무슨말인지 모르겠구요..

1.On Saturday night, John left the house without the knowledge of his parents.

토요일 밤, 존은 부모님 몰래 집을 나갔다.

2.most ancient Greek city-states were oligarchies, meaning that a small group of wealthy men ruled.

고대 그리스 도시국가 대부분은 과두정치 체제였다, 즉 소수집단인 부자들이 지배했다.
