The days of online identity theft and having to remember multiple complex account passwords may be over. That's according to the designers of new software that effectively turn a user's fingerprint into the key to their entire online existence. The software integrates the user's varied online accounts and provides access to them all pending the successful scan of their fingerprint. The biggest stumbling block to widespread implementation of the software is the requisite hardware to perform the scan.

pending 이라는게 ~까지라는 뜻이긴 한데, ~의 내용이 아직 되지 않은, 결정이 안된 상태라는 의미가 있어서 the successful scan of their fingerprint가 될 때까지라는건 문맥상 '성공적인 스캔을 할 수 있게 되면 계정통합, 접속하게 하는게 가능해진다'라는 의미로 보면 될 것 같아요...ㅠ 어렵네용..
