기본기 다지기
①접속사의 역할->단어/구/절을 연결
1)단어+단어
ex) a car and a house
2)구+구
ex) growing vegetable and raising animals
3)절+절
ex)The power went out, so I left the office early.
※하지만 대부분의 접속사는 절과 절만 연결
②등위접속사(FANBOYS) ③상관접속사

1. 단어, 구, 절 연결->ANBOY[for,so는 절과 절만 연결]
2. S+V, _________S+V->문장 중간에 위치
3. S+V ____________V[앞 문장과 동일한 주어 및 조동사 생략 가능]
Students need to be diligent and responsible.
John usually spends his free time reading or exercising.
We must clean the house, for my parents are visiting this evening.

※등위접속사는 문맥에 맞는 것을 선택
☞I ordered a woonden bed (but, and) a soft mattress.
☞James wants to travel to Italy, (so, but, yet) Sarah insists on
going to Mexico.
※and 로 연결되면 복수동사 or는 마지막 주어에 수를 일치
☞Ms. Jenkins and her client are meeting for lunch.
☞I think that the department heads or the CEO os going to make the
announcement.
