부사절 접속사 특수 구문 ⇒ 부사절 접속사+분사 ♣ 부사절 접속사 ⇒접속사 S+V(종속절/부사절), S+V(주절) 1)although[접) 2)despite[전] Although it is raining, S+V Despite rain, S+V 1. → If you can’t meet today[부사절], we can get together tomorrow[주절]. I started looking for a house, when I accepted the fob in Berlin. The Olton Hotel is a venue where we held the event. ◆부사절 접속사+S+V→ 부사절 접속사+ing/pp 1)접속사+ing When/While/After/Before S+V ①주어 생략 ②동사 원형→ ~ing[be 동사는 being] When you make a speech, you should speak clearly. → When making a speech, ~ When (reserve, reserving) a room, S+V 2)시간/조건/양보 접속사+P.P [시간]When/Once [조건]if/Only if/Unless S+be+p.p, S+V [양보]Though/Although ①주어 생략 ②be동사→ being ③접(being)+p.p→ 접 p.p The machine continually runs unless the machine is switched off. → Unless switched off If the proposal is approved→ If approved Although it was required→ Although required 2.
I need to complete my article before the editor (will leave, leaves) today. By the time/once S + 현재/현재완료 + 미래/미래 완료시제 3.
◆ Except that/But that→ ~을 제외하고는 Ms. Demian’s screenplay is perfect except that it needs a better title. ◆ As if/As though/(just)as→ 마치 ~처럼 The readers spoke of the novel as though its characters were real people. ◆ Given that/Considering (that)→ ~을 고려했을 때 It is great how quickly the product is selling, considering it was released just a week ago. ‘given that’은 ‘given’뒤에 ‘that’이 있어야 부사절 접속사 역할을 하는데, ‘considering that’은 ‘considering’뒤에 ‘that’이 있어도 부사절 접속사 역할을 할 수 있고, ‘that’이 없어도 부사절 접속사 역할을 할 수 있거든요.
I saw someone I knew wherever(→ at any place where)I went during the trade fair. Guests can help themselves to refreshments whenever(→ no matter when) they wish. However(→ no matter how) carefully I plan my trips, there’s always something I forget. However 형용사/부사 S+V, S+V However well I perform, However expensive it is cf) however 부: 그렇지만(문장 연결×) 6.
Whoever(=No matter who)is at the door, ask them to come back later. Whatever you want to order is okay with us. 7.
The appointment was canceled because Mr. Stanley had an emergency. The appointment was canceled because of an unexpected emergency. [Because/Because of]the problems discussed at the meeting, S+V ☺ 의미가 같은 부사절 접속사와 전치사는 반드시 구별해서 암기해야 해요.
