전치사 역할 - 형용사, 부사
->숙어 전치사로써 보어 역할을 하기도 함
ex) He is on leave / He is currently on leave
시간 전치사 : at 시각,시점/ on 날짜, 요일, 특정일/ in 월,연도, 계절,세기, 아침,오후,저녁
at noon/night/midnight (정오/밤/자정) <-> in the morning/afternoon/evening (아침/오후/저녁)
장소 전치사 : at 지점,번지 / on 표면 위,일직선 상의 시점 / in 큰 공간 내 장소
at the bus stop / on the table, on the first floor / in the city, in the world
at the beginning/end/top/bottom of ->처음/끝/위/아래는 at
in the middle of ->중간은 in
since 시점 / for,during 기간
while[접] + s v / 전치사구 -> s v가 생략된 형태로 while + 전치사구 가능하므로 주의
ex) while (s+v) on duty
beside ->장소 전치사
besides는 전/부 -> 게다가 (=in addition to)
