EX) __in__ 2010, I met many people
* for, during + 기간
·for: 숫자 전환 가능한 기간 동안 (EX. three years, a year )
·during: 글자 기간 동안 (EX. my vacation, the meeting)
* until, by + 시점
·until~ : 그 시점까지 어떤 동작을 꾸준히, 계속
EX) study until midnight
·by~ : 꾸준히x 순간적으로 한 번!
EX) submiy by midnight
장소 전치사
* at, on, in 장소
·at 장소: 특정 지점. 웬만하면 at 사용
·on 표면: 표면 위에. 위에 올라가 봤다면.
EX) She put the groceries on the table.
on the floor, on the first floor, on the second floor.
·in 장소: 공간 안에. 들어갈 수 있다면.
EX) in the city, in the world (이 경우들에선 at 쓰면 안 됨!)
* between, among
between: 2개, among: 3개 이상 or 불가산일 때.
* to, toward
to 대상: (확실한 대상)~에게, ~로
toward 대상: (확실한 대상이라기보다는 그 대상이 있는)~쪽으로, ~을 향하여
EX) John wrote a letter to his wife. (O)
John wrote a letter toward his wife. (O)
We walked to downtown. (X)
We walked toward downtown. (O)
* across, through, along (이 전치사들은 뜻만 알면 됨.)
across: 가로질러, along: 따라서, through: 통하여
* into 뛰어들어가는 것, out of 뛰어나가는 것
해석상 한가지만 가능한 것: I ran into / out of Mr. Kim
(run into 사람: 사람과 마주치다.)
put A into B: A를 B 안에 넣다.
take A out of B: A를 B에서 꺼내다.
