***전치사구는 문장 맨 앞, 문장 중간, 문장 맨뒤에 올 수 있다.
1. 전치사 자리
1-1. 전치사가 오는 자리
- 명사 앞 I bought the coffee maker in January.
- 대명사 앞 We recommended the best art school to him
1-2. 전치사 뒤에 올 수 없는 것 - 형용사, 동사 * 전치사 뒤에는 [어여쁜 명사구] 완성 시켜주기!
- 형용사, 동사
- 전치사 뒤에는 [어여쁜 명사구] 완성 시켜주기
-> The city hall is under construction. * under construction 공사중
-> In a speech, the director expressed concern.
2. 시간 전치사
2-1. at, on, in
- 임 in 년 in 년
- 부처님 on 날 on 날
- 5월 in 데 in 월
- 10시 at 만나자 at 시
-> In 2010, I met many peeple.
2-2. for vs. during
- for : 숫자 전환 가능 기간 동안 ex) three years. a year
-during : 글자 기간 동안 ex) my vacation, the meeting
2-3. until vs. by+시점
- until~ : ~까지 꾸준히, 계속! ex) study until midnight
- by~ : ~까지 한번! 끝! 순간적! ex) submit by midnight
+ 상황극 -> "until 꾸준히" "by 한번"
남자: 나의 여자친구가 되어줄래?
여자: 아..음...내일까지 말해줄게
-> I will give you the answer until tomorrow. (X)
-> I will give you the answer by tomorrow. (O)
3. 장소 전치사
3-1. at, on, in
- at 장소 : 특정 지점 -> 웬만하면
- on 표면 : 표면 위에 -> 위에 올라가 봤다면
- in 장소 : 공간 안에 -> 들어갈 수 있다면
on -> She put the groceries on the table.
on the floor
on the first floor
on the second floor
at > in
at 장소: 장소에 ex) in the building
in 장소: 장소안에 ex) at the building
* at 하면 안되는 경우 in the city/ in the world ( in 도시, in 세상)
3-2. between, among
- between the two
- betweed A and B
- among 복수명사(셋 이상) / 불가산
-> There is a house between two trees.
-> There is a house among several trees.
4. 방향 전치사
4-1. to, toward
- to 대상 : ~에게, ~로(대상이 확실)
- toward 대상 : ~쪽으로, ~을 향하여(그 대상의 방향)
-> John wrote a letter to his wife. (편지 -> 확실한 대상에게 쓴다)
-> John wrote a letter toward his wife. (X)
-> We walked to downtown. (다운 타운으로 가는 것)
-> We walked toward downtown. (다운 타운 방향으로 가는 것)
4-2. across, through, along
- I swam across the lake.
- I swam along the lake.
- across 명사를 가로 질러
- through 명사를 통하여
- along 명사를 따라
4-3. into, out of
* 둘다 가능한 상황*
-> Kathy ran (into/out of) her house.
-> He jumped (into/our of) his bad.
+ * I ran (into/out of) Mr.Kim.
-> run into 사람 : 사람과 마주치다
+ * put A into B : A를 B안에 넣다
+ * take A out of B : A를 B에 꺼내다
* 동사 어휘
< 동사 뿐만 아니라 명사로도 쓰임>
- review v. 검토하다/ n. 검토, 후기, 후평
- purchase v.구매하다/n. 구매품, 구매(행위자체)
- prolong v. 길게하다, 연장시키다
