1. 형용사/부사
- 형용사 자리: 명사 앞이나 be동사 뒤
- 형용사의 형태
-able -tive -ous -tic -y | changeable protective advantageous realistic wealthy | 변하기 쉬운 보호하는 유리한 현실적인 부유한 |
- 부사의 형태
형용사 | 부사 |
perfect 완전한 easy 쉬운 quick 빠른 | perfectly 완전하게 easily 쉽게 quickly 빠르게 |
2. 형용사 자리
1)명사 앞
- We received helpful advice from him.
- advice=명사
2)보어 자리
- The receptionist is very kind.
- is=be동사, be동사 뒤에는 형용사
3. 부사가 오는 자리
1)형용사 앞
- It is a highly innovative design.
- She was slightly surprised at the news.
2)부사 앞
- Chris behaved extremely badly.
3)동사 앞
- He accurately entered all the data.
4)동사 뒤
- Time passed quickly.
5)문장 앞
- Regrettably, we do not have the item.

3. 혼동하기 쉬운 형용사/부사
- 혼동하기 쉬운 형용사
argumentative considerable 상당한, 중요한 -> 물질의 양/수(돈) distinguished economic favorite profitable prospective reliable responsible successful | arguable considerate 사려 깊은, 착한 -> 인간 distinguishable economical favorable proficient prosperous reliant responsive successive |
ex)
My manager is considerate. /manager->사람
He has a considerable amount of money. /amount of money->액수
ex)
succeed: 1.계승하다 / 2.성공하다
successful: 성공한(성공적인)
successive: 연속하는(뒤를 잇는, 계승하는)
Judy has a successful career in journalism.
We will have several meetings.
First meeting will be held in March.
Successive meetings will be held in April.
# successive : 어떤 사건이 발생하고 그 뒤를 잇는 사건이 발생 했을 때 사용.
2)혼동하기 쉬운 부사
close hard 열심히 high late 늦게 most near | closely hardly 거의 ~하지 않다 highly lately 최근에 mostly nearly |
The team worked hard to finish the project.
The team hardly worked. -> hardly는 동사 앞에 사용.
The team worked hard. -> hard는 동사 뒤에 사용.
The restaurants stay open late.
The restaurants opened lately.
The restaurants stay open late.
