1. 전치사 - “명사구”앞에 온다.

- in the box:상자 안에
- 전치사의 형태와 의미
한 단어인 전치사 | 두 단어 이상인 전치사 |
on ~위에 under ~아래에 for ~동안 since ~이래로 | due to ~때문에 instead of ~대신에 in front of ~앞에 in addition to ~외에도 |
- 전치사구
“전치사는 명사구 앞에 쓰이는 단어”
=전치사+명사구=전치사구=전명구
-명사=주어, 목적어
-전치사구=수식어
- For consideration, we have enclosed our brochure.
- The man in the conference room is Mr. Adams.
- The celebration finished at midnight.
2. 전치사 자리
- 명사 앞
- I bought the coffee maker in January.
- 대명사 앞
- We recommended the bes art school to him.

3. 시간 전치사
- at, on, in

In 2010, I met many people.
1) for, during+기간 -> 둘 다 뜻은 ~동안
- for : 숫자 전환 가능 기간 동안
- for three years / a year
- during : 글자 기간 동안
- during my vacation / the meeting
2)until, by+시점
- until~ : ~까지 꾸준히, 계속!
- study until midnight
- by~ : ~까지 한번! 끝! 순간적!
- submit by midnight
4. 장소 전치사
1)at, on, in
- at(장소): 특정 지점. 웬만하면
- on(표면): 표면 위에. 위에 올라가 봤다면
She put the groceries on the table.
on the floor
on the first floor
on the second floor
- in(장소): 공간 안에. 들어갈 수 있다면
- at〉in
-at: 장소에
-in: 장소 안에
in the building(○)
at the building(○)
#at하면 안 되는 경우!
- in the city
- in the world
2) between, among
- between
-between the two
-between A and B
There is a hose between the two trees.
위 두가지 경우를 제외하고는 무조건 among
- among
- 복수명사(셋 이상) / 불가산
There is a hose among several trees.
5. 방향 전치사
1) to, toward
- to: ~에게, ~로(대상이 확실)
John wrote a letter to his wife.
We walked to downtown.
- toward: ~쪽으로 , ~을 향하여(그 대상의 방향)
We walked toward downtown.
2) across, through, along
- across: ~를 가로질러
- through: ~를 통해
- along: ~를 따라
I swam across/through/along the lake.
The car went through/along a tunnel.
Mike walked across/through/along the beach.
3) into, out of
Kathy ran into/out of her house.
He jumped into/out of his bed.
I ran into Mr. Kim.
run into 사람: 사람과 마주치다
put A into B: A를 B안에 넣다
take A out of B: A를 B에서 꺼내다
