1. 원급
'~만큼 `~한' 의미로 두 대상의 동등함을 나타내는 원급 표현. "as + 형용사/부사 + as"
The kitten is as white as snow.
'~만큼 ~하지 않은' 의미 "not as ~ as~" 또는 "not so ~ as~"
The new desktop computer is not as/so speedy as the previous one.
'~만큼 많은/적은'을 나타내는 원급 표현은 "as + many/much/few/little 명사 + as"
Please provide as much evidence as possible.
'~와 같은~'을 나타내는 원급 표현은 "the same (명사) + as"
형용사나 부사의 원급을 꾸며 주는 표현: nearly, almost, just
2. 비교급
'~보다 ~한'이라는 의미로 두 대상중 한쪽이 우월함을 나타내는 비교급 표현은 "형용사/부사의 비교급 + than"
I drove more slowly than usual because of the weather.
'~보다 많은/적은~'을 나타내는 비교급 표현은 "more/fewer/less + 명사 + than"
비교급에는 the를 쓰지 않지만 예외적으로 아래의 비교급 표현에서는 반드시 the를 쓴다
the 비교급~, the비교급~.(~할수록 점점 더 ~하다)
The more you exercise, the healthier you'll be.
the 비교급+of the two(둘 중에 ~한)
Diana is the older of the two sisters.
형용사 부사의 비교급을 강조하는 표현: much, even, still, far, a lot, by far
3. 최상급
'~중에 가장 ~한' 의미로 셋 이상의 대상들 중 하나가 우월함을 나타내는 최상급 표현 "최상급 + of~/in~/that절"
City Hall is the oldest building of all the structures.
최상급+명사 앞에는 주로 the가 온다. 이때 소유격이 올 수도 있다.
Mr. sanders will sign a contract with his most important client today.
