'~인지 아닌지'의 <명사절>일 경우 whether를 if로 바꿀 수 있는데요,
if로 바꿀 수 없는 경우가 있습니다.
1)명사절을 이끌 경우 ex)If he's a dentist is not certain.틀림: whether로 바꿔야 함
2)or not과 붙여서 ex)She's unsure if or not he's joining.틀림
(She's unsure if he's joining./She's unsure if he's joining or not./She's unsure whether he's joining./She's unsure whether he's joining or not. 다 맞음)
3)to부정사와 붙여서 ex)if to stay 틀림: whether to stay 맞음.
