【종속접속사】 ‘수식어(부사절/종속절), 주어+동사+목적어’ ex)Because I am smart(부사절), I explained that the Earth is round(명사절). 1)명사절 접속사 that, if/whether: 문장을 명사로 만들어 주는 단어 ① 명사절의 위치: 주어, 목적어 ② that+문장, if/whether+문장
-that+주어 동사=주어가 동사한다는 것 ex)That she won the award was a big surprise.
-if/whether+주어 동사=주어가 동사하는지 아닌지 ex)Mr. Lee has not yet decided whether he will transfer.
2)부사절 접속사 수식어(부사, 부사절), 주어+동사+목적어/보어 수식어(부사, 부사절)
He postponed the event [because rain was expected.]→ 주절 뒤의 부사절 [Although Tim is inexperienced,] he did his best.→ 주절 앞의 부사절

1)ease: 완화시키다 A new bridge could ease the city’s traffic issues.
